Background

Olzherasskaya Gluboky Coal Mine (шахта Ольжерасская-Глубокая) is a proposed underground coal mine in Kemerovo Oblast, Russia. Olzherasskaya Gluboky Coal Mine has been developed by Southern Kuzbass Coal Company, a subsidiary of Mechel Group.

The mine has been listed as a 'Prospect project' for many years (at least since 2012) in Mechel's annual reports, but with no reporting on the progress.[4] The project was therefore considered Cancelled. License expiry date is November 2025.[4]
